Gigi Hadid recruited for Backstreet Boys video
Model Gigi Hadid has been recruited to star in a Backstreet Boys video as a favour to bandmember A J Mclean.
The 1990s pop veteran agreed to appear in an upcoming episode of TV show 'Lip sync battle' along with his bandmate Nick Carter following persuasion from Hadid.
However, Mclean insisted the pair would only agree to the appearance if Hadid, 20, promised to star in an upcoming music promo for the boy band, reported Contactmusic.
"We met Gigi for the very first time at (an) event up in New York, and she asked us to do it and I'm like, 'Of course!' "So, I said, 'The next time the Backstreet Boys have any kind of video, you gotta return the favour and be the main girl in one of our videos,' and she said, 'Absolutely, for sure'," Mclean added.
Hadid already has plenty of experience shooting pop music videos after playing a love interest for her real life boyfriend Cody Simpson in the video for his song 'Surfboard'. She also appeared opposite Miguel in the promo clip for his 2014 song 'Simplethings', and in the video for Calvin Harris' latest track 'How deep is your love'.
