Hugh Jackman in talks for 'The Odyssey'
Wolverine' star Hugh Jackman is in early negotiations to portray the titular Greek hero Odysseus in the adaptation of Homer's epic poem 'The Odyssey'.
Francis Lawrence who directed the last three Hunger Games films is attached to sit at the helm for the upcoming movie, according to The Wrap.
The project comes from Lionsgate, the same studio who brought Suzanne Collins' dystopian novel to the big screen.
The poem follows Odysseus, also known as Ulysses in Roman myths, as he embarks on a long voyage home following the fall of Troy. It takes ten years for him to reach his homeland of Ithaca after the conclusion of the Trojan War. During his absence, his wife must deal with unruly suitors.
Jackman, 46, is expected to make his final appearance as Marvel's clawed mutant in The Wolverine 3 which is due March 3, 2017. He was last seen in Chappie and will next return to the big screen as Captain Blackbeard in Pan.
